This class is fast-paced, fun and entertaining. Once you complete the course you will be issued a Basic Firearms Safety (BFS) Certificate by our MA Certified Instructor that will prove to your local police chief that you have completed all of the state required training for your license to carry. You will also receive your NRA certification which is recognized nationwide and can open up your firearms enthusiasm and experiences to whole new levels. DOES THIS COURSE INCLUDE LIVE FIRE?
You will use real firearms with high-tech laser targeting systems, SIRT guns, etc. This is an immersive, hands-on experience only without the smell of gun powder!
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
The course is “objective based” which means there is no set time limit. We end when the objectives have been met. Depending on the size of the class you can expect to be there for about 4 hours and complete the course in just one afternoon.
HOW MUCH DOES THE COURSE COST?
The entire course, with everything included is FREE for AmVets Post 147 members (AmVets, Sons or Ladies Aux) and only costs a total of $125 for non members. Non members can reserve a seat and pay online by CLICKING THIS LINK , or pay in person at Rocknus (229 Primrose St. Haverhill, MA 01830), or pay at the AmVets Post 147 on the day of the class. HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO APPLY?
You must be 18 years or older (or 14–17 with parental consent) to apply for FID and 21+ to apply for LTC. Our Safety Courses are approved for FID as well as Class-A LTC.
DO I HAVE TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN?
U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens (green card holders) residing in Massachusetts are eligible for resident firearms licenses.
DO I HAVE TO BE A MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENT?
No. Non-residents of MA are still required to take this course if they wish to apply for NON-RESIDENT firearms licenses
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Just bring your ID and your AmVets Post 147 membership card if you are a member. Everything else is provided for you.
